You Don't Need to Have It All Figured Out

Why do we always think we need to have all the answers now? We stress ourselves out, needing to plan what’s next when the very effort to keep moving could be what’s keeping us from seeing where we need to go. When you’re feeling pressured to have all the answers, when you’re filling your plate with things to do because you don’t know what you’re doing, take a moment to stop, breathe, and let go.

We don’t get to a point in our lives where we realise we’ve got it all figured out. Life is forever evolving, always introducing us to new opportunities for growth and learning. When we start to stress ourselves out because we don’t have all the answers we our looking for, it’s important to remember that it’s our mind that is creating that pressure, YOU are creating that pressure – not anyone or anything else (try as we might to point the finger elsewhere!).

Life flows like a wave, some days are smooth sailing and others feel like a storm. Some days we are being ushered forwards and other days the tide draws us back. You may try to control the tide, but life will throw things your way, altering your direction into new unknowns. And that is ok. It is a part of this magical journey we call life. Some of the best moments come from us not knowing!

Sometimes the only way to move forward with new opportunities is to let go of old expectations. Likewise the only way for the self to move forward is to let go of who we were so we can allow ourselves to become who we might yet be.

Know that you are not alone when you feel lost, assuming you should know more than you do or have things more figured out than they are. Sometimes the answer isn’t in doing more, but in fact in doing less. Slow down, breathe and let go of unfounded expectations. Slow down, breathe, and let go of unnecessary pressure. Slow down, breathe and let go of the need to know everything right now. Slow down, breathe and just allow yourself to be present in the here and now. Surrender to what is, and what’s yet to come.

Trust that when you give yourself half a chance, the answers will come to you. They already live within you. So breathe, trust and let go.
