The Prosperous Coach by Steve Chandler & Rich Litvin

I was on a call with my Life Coach a few weeks back having just finished my Life Coach training and I was busy telling her about my plans for my website when she said, “you need to read The Prosperous Coach, I think you’re ready.” I’ve loved every recommendation she’s given me so off I went to buy, and then read, this book.

The Prosperous Coach really is a must-read for every coach, but especially for every new coach. Starting out as a new coach is daunting enough, but quite often we waste our time trying to create impressions of experience that are forms of procrastination, holding us back from just going out and getting actual experience. Waiting for the right business cards, to have the perfect website, to create social pages and then have the content to fill them with – all create an external illusion for you as a coach when in reality, what makes a good coach great is their ability to go out and have powerful conversations and connections with prospective clients.

Both incredibly successful coaches in their own rights, Steve and Chandler set out to debunk all the things we think we should be doing that ultimately lead to failure. Their secret to success? They claim it’s no secret at all – it’s going out and having meaningful conversations, understanding that there is no price for achieving ones dreams so don’t undersell your services, there is no one like you and thus no other coach like you, and when people want to be coached they already have the means to success within them.

Through an easy to read layout with brief chapters, they provide 18 Fearless Disciplines and 18 Components of Fearless Coaching to help guide you towards successful and meaningful careers in changing peoples lives. If you’re new to coaching, worrying about how on earth you will get your first clients, spending too much time and/or money on your “image”, afraid to charge for your services…this should be the first book you read next!
